Field Health Services (FHS) provides medical care in the field through outbreak investigation, medical transport, and community-based nurse offices. FHS also operates six neighborhood nursing offices which provide health screening services to uninsured and underinsured Baltimoreans. In addition, FHS investigates reports of rabies and gastrointestinal infections, such as hepatitis A, salmonella, giardia, and shigella. FHS also organizes transportation to and from medical appointments for Medicaid recipients. Finally, FHS provides HIV testing and counseling services from a mobile testing site.
