Through the Cigarette Restitution Fund Program, the Health Department also operates the office of Tobacco Use Prevention and Cessation. The goal of the program is to reduce disease, disability and death related to tobacco use by:
- preventing the initiation of tobacco use among young people
- promoting smoking cessation among adults and young people
- eliminating exposure to environmental tobacco
- eliminating the disparities related to tobacco use and its effects among different population groups.
Visit the program’s page for resources on smoking cessation and prevention.
