Baltimore City is committed to providing a safe and warm bed to individuals who would otherwise lack adequate shelter during the winter. The City has partnered with Jobs, Housing, and Recovery, Inc. to provide additional shelter beds during the coldest months.

Shelter services include: 1) A safe, warm place to sleep, 2) addiction, mental health and health services, 3) case management and referral, 4) hot dinner and 5) breakfast.
The Winter Shelter will be available 24 hours a day from December 7th through March 31st 2008. Shelter intake will be done daily from 5:00 A.M. until 10:00 P.M. Intake will extend to 12:00 A.M. on Code Blue nights (below 32 degrees and/or with extenuating circumstances). Bed assignments are on a first-come first-serve basis.
Meals will be served daily at the following times:
Breakfast - 6:30 A.M. to 8:00 A.M. (Consisting of cereal, milk, juice and coffee)
Dinner - 5:00 P.M. to 6:30 P.M. (A hot dinner will be served nightly)
Children and families are welcome... The shelter is available for anyone in need of a warm place to stay, including families and individuals whose homes are without heat.
The shelter is clean, safe and secure...
Baltimore City Police officers will be present to assist staff in maintaining a secure environment. In addition, security personnel from the ABACUS Corporation will be onsite daily to provide monitoring assistance. The Department of Public Works will also provide daily trash removal.
Transportation is available on Code Blue nights...
On Code Blue nights, Woodlawn Motor Coach will pick up and drop off individuals at the following locations. Please call 311 to find out if Code Blue is in effect for the evening.
