Ryan White Title I Office

The Ryan White Title I Office serves as the Grantee and overall administrator for the Ryan White CARE Act Title I grant awarded to Baltimore Eligible Metropolitan Area (EMA), for HIV/AIDS primary medical care and supportive services provided to infected persons who are uninsured, under-insured, or who are not able to obtain needs services through other insurance programs. The EMA consists of Baltimore City and the six surrounding counties of Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Harford, Howard, and Queen Anne. People living with HIV who live in the Baltimore EMA can access services through a comprehensive continuum of 60 providers in the region including hospitals, clinics, and community-based organizations. In order to ensure the best care possible, the Title I Office's Quality Improvement Program is responsible for implementing comprehensive reviews of service providers to measure their compliance with Public Health and Local Standards of Care for the treatment of HIV/AIDS. Title I funds represent approximately 21% of the total HIV/AIDS service funding for the EMA in and around Baltimore City. This funding is crucial to providing an essential safety net for the most vulnerable uninsured and/or underinsured populations living with HIV and AIDS.

The BCHD Ryan White Title I Office provides no direct service under this program.
