Letters of Support
Overview
If you are applying for a grant and you wish to include a Letter of Support from the Baltimore City Health Department (BCHD), send an e-mail to the director grants development (paul.overly@baltimorecity.gov) with the following:
- The name of the grantmaker or federal agency to which you are applying.
- The name of the grant program and the program announcement number.
- Information about you and your organization, if this is your or your organization’s first time requesting a Letter of Support from BCHD.
- A summary or abstract of your proposed project. A copy of the project narrative or the full application is acceptable.
- The date by which you need to receive the letter from BCHD.
- Contact person’s name, phone number, mailing address, and e-mail address.
- The method by which you prefer to have the letter transmitted to you: mail, in-person pickup, fax, or e-mail of a PDF.
- A sample letter. If the grantmaking organization specifies certain items to be included in the letter, the sample must include those items.
The grants development director will assist you with any questions or problems you may encounter.
BCHD generally requires five (5) working days to process a request for a letter of support. We cannot guarantee on-time completion of a letter if less than five working days are available to us before your deadline.
